PINE TOWNSHIP | A Sawyer, Mich., man died early Saturday after stepping in front of an oncoming vehicle on Interstate 94 in Porter County.
Bradley Miner, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive blunt force trauma, Indiana State Police said.
Police said Miner parked his 1999 Jeep Wrangler on the shoulder of westbound I-94 at the 29-mile marker, just east of the I-94 westbound truck scales.
Miner then left his vehicle with some personal belongings inside and stepped in front of a 2005 Buick LaSabre driven by a 25-year-old Gary man.
The driver of the Buick was not injured.
The right and middle lanes and entrance ramp to the scales were closed until 4 a.m. for reconstruction of the crash and investigation.
