CHESTERTON | Fleet Feet Sports will offer its No Boundaries program for beginning and returning runners starting Aug. 27 in Chesterton.

A Gear Up Information Event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. at Omni Health & Fitness in Chesterton.

No Boundaries, a 10-week beginner level running training program, is designed for people who are currently inactive, who are new to running or walking, or who are working to get back into running/walking condition. The program offers, walk/run, run/walk, run and intermediate run training programs to fit the conditioning level of participants.

A nationally organized and recognized program that is sponsored by New Balance and offered through Fleet Feet Sports stores across the country, No Boundaries focuses on teaching the fundamentals of running, along with providing the training needed to complete the Fall Frolic 4 Mile race on Nov. 3.

“The No Boundaries program is a great way to get active, make new friends and start a new healthier lifestyle,” said Misty Chandos, director of Training and Event Coordinator for Fleet Feet Schererville.

The program includes; an 10-week training schedule, on-site coaching from certified running coaches, weekly coached group runs (2 times a week), team support and encouragement, team running shirt, weekly educational clinics by coaches, post run snacks and refreshments, entry into raffles and giveaways throughout program and race entry into the Fall Frolic.

Attendance at the Gear Up Information Event is not mandatory, but is encouraged. The event is a chance to meet the coaches, other participants and learn about the details of the program. Come out to learn more even if you are interested but not registered. Registration is available online. The cost is $125.00.

The Chesterton training group runs will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:15pm at Franciscan Omni Health & Fitness, 810 Michael Dr. in Chesterton. There is also a group that meets in Schererville on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at Fleet Feet Sports, 635 E. U.S. 30 in Schererville.
