CHESTERTON | Chesterton Art Center photography instructor George Kassal will be leading the Chesterton Photo Walk from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 5, as part of the Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk.
This free event will begin at the Chesterton Art Center at 115 S. 4th St. Participants will then take photos as they walk through downtown Chesterton, Thomas Park and the activities surrounding the outdoor European Market. After the walk, the photographers are invited back to the Chesterton Art Center for lunch and to share their images. Last year, this event included 900 photo walks worldwide with more than 32,000 photographers participating. There are more than 600 walks already planned for this year.
At the end of the event, photographers are encouraged to submit their best photo for a prize. Event T-shirts are being sold to raise money for the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. All the profits will go towards the feeding and caring of these children.
To register, sign up online at http://worldwidephotowalk.com/walk/chesterton-in-united-states/. There is a limit of 50 people that can participate with the Chesterton group.
