Trespass warning issued to grandmother of student
THE PINES | The grandmother of a Pine Elementary student has been issued a no-trespass warning after threatening to bring a baseball bat to school
A teacher at Pine Elementary School reported to the Porter County Sheriff's Department that she had a conference with the mother and grandmother of a disruptive student.
According to police, the grandmother became irate and told the teacher, "The next time I come to Pine School I am going to bring a baseball bat, and I don't care if I go to jail."
Police issued a no-trespass warning to the grandmother.
Chesterton man reports items stolen from storage unit
CHESTERTON | A Chesterton resident reported to police Wednesday afternoon that several items had been stolen from his storage unit at All Safe Storage, 1240 Broadway.
The man told police the items were taken sometime between Oct. 9 and Oct. 11, but because of work issues, he couldn't report the theft until Oct. 16. The lock at the storage unit had been cut to gain entry.
Missing was a snow cone machine, a snow cone machine stand, an electric food warmer and an electric soup warmer. The items were valued at $1,125.
