CHESTERTON | Mary Acton will host Pysanky Egg Classes at the Chesterton Art Center for both adults and children during the month of July. The children's classes will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 11 and again on July 18 for ages 10 and up. The adult Pysanky class will be taught from 9 a.m. to noon July 12. Each class will cost $40 for members of the Chesterton Art Center and $45 for non-members.
Students will learn the art of Pysanky egg dying using wax to control the various dyes on the eggs, ending with a beautiful pattern or image. Participants may choose from a variety of patterns for their egg or they may design their own. By the end of the class, each guest will have completed an egg or two. The class size is limited to 10 in an effort to give each person lots of individual attention.
To register for class, contact the Chesterton Art Center at (219) 926-4711 or visit 115 S. 4th St. For the entire list of adult classes, visit www.chestertonart.com.
