CHESTERTON | Rebuilding Together-Duneland's annual work day is approaching and the organization is reaching out to the community for help.
“Our focus provides hope for a homeowner who meets all of the necessary guidelines and needs improvements to their home. We focus on critical repairs, accessibility modifications and energy efficient upgrades for financially struggling homeowners to assure they live in warmth, safety, dignity and independence,” said Jocelyn Hibshman, president of RTD.
"Thanks to the strong support we have received from both volunteers and sponsors, we’ve been able to complete 183 projects since 1997," said Keith Davison, RTD’s fundraising chair. "The impact RTD has on the lives of Duneland community members has been significant. We are hoping to keep our momentum going for this workday and need to raise funds to support our planned efforts. Our goal this year is to raise $40,000.”
The Chesterton Lions Club, Luella De Wulf, Porter Bank, and Darlene Manuzzi, in memory of Nick Manuzzi, donated $2,000 and the Chesterton-Duneland Kiwanis Club donated $1,000.
