I Can Do That! Art
I Can Do That! Art will continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday in February at Westchester Public Library. All ages are welcome, but parents are asked to accompany little ones. Photos on display
Who’s Who and What’s What? is a display of unidentified photographs from the archives of the Westchester Township History Museum, 700 W. Porter Ave. The exhibit will run through Sunday. The museum has hundreds of photographs in its archives, many of which are of unidentified dates, people, events, and/or places. The public is invited to browse the historic images and help museum staff identify the photographs. Call (219) 983-9715.
Tax forms
CHESTERTON | IT-40 booklets (forms included) and basic federal forms (1040, 1040EZ, etc.) are currently available at Westchester Public Library free of charge. Timmy and Tessa
CHESTERTON | Timmy and Tessa will return at 4 p.m. today to Westchester Public Library. Join them for Puppy Tales in the Children’s Department at Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave. The program is free of charge. Timmy and Tessa visit the children at the library on a regular basis. These affectionate dachshunds enjoy people and enjoy listening to children read. They have heard a lot of dog stories. Tessa especially likes the picture books that young readers choose. They aren’t picky about reading skill levels, and they are very happy when readers pet them while reading. cALL (219) 926-7696.
Polka Dot parties
Polka Dot Parties with Carol will continue at Westchester Public Library on three different days in March. Adults are invited to be creative at Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, in the Bertha Wood meeting room. Registration for each program is required. Materials are provided by the library.
On March 4, from 9 a.m.-noon, Polka Dot Party attendees will learn a variety of stamping and paper crafting techniques to incorporate into original St. Patrick’s Day or Easter cards.
Pop Can Art is scheduled for two days: 9 a.m. to noon March 18 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 27. Call (219) 926-7696.
Budgeting 101
Westchester Public Library’s budgeting series for adults will continue with Budgeting 101 and Debt Savvy One-on-One Personal Budget sessions in March. The programs will both take place at Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave., in the Bertha Wood meeting room. Registration for both programs is necessary.
Budgeting 101 will take place from 10 a.m. to noon March 7. The session will include ideas on where to start with a financial plan, steps of effective financial planning, and good financial habits to develop.
Interested adults are invited to register for Debt Savvy: One-on One Personal Budget from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 14 or March 16. Individual sessions will be for one hour each, by appointment only; registrants may sign up for a time slot at the Reference desk at Thomas Library. Call (219) 926-7696.
Gardening programs
PORTER | Hageman Library, Westchester Public Library’s Porter branch, will offer a gardening program from 7 to 8 p.m. thursday at 100 Freancis St. There is no charge for attendance. Registration is not necessary. Todd Hutson, formerly with the Purdue Extension, will discuss bugs that are good for the garden as well as those that are not good for a garden. Bits and Bytes
CHESTERTON | Bits and Bytes will continue on March 12 at Westchester Public Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave., with Computer Basics 2. The session will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The class is free, but registration is required as computer stations are limited. The program will take place in the Bertha Wood meeting room on the second floor of the library. Registrants need to be comfortable using the mouse.

Computer Basics 2 will continue with basics and will look further into understanding applications, storage and the control panel. Topics to be covered will include file extensions, cut-copy and paste, managing files, backing up your files, and more.
