Swim, gymnastics lessons

Sign up to learn new skills, meet new friends and have fun this winter. Progressive swim lessons for all ages. Progress gymnastics lessons begin at age 3. See website for schedules.

Preschool registration

Registration for 2014-15 Preschool Academy has begun. Be sure to hold your spot, as openings are limited. Call for classes and times.

Outdoor T-ball/Baseball League

Outdoor T-ball/Baseball League will be from May 5 to June 21 at Real Life Community Church in Portage. Weekday practices with games played on Saturday mornings. Registration ends April 26.

Duneland Family YMCA

Parents Night Out

Parents can use the Parents Night Out program and stop worrying about finding a sitter, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday. Trained YMCA staff have organized and fun activities planned to keep each child’s attention. The cost for members is $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional child. The nonmember rate is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child.

Zumbathon fundraiser

Zumbathon fundraiser is 6 to 8 p.m. May 16. Help raise money for the Y Fitness Department. All proceeds will be used to purchase a new metal rack full of hand weights for classes and workouts. Cost is $10 per person at the door, and additional donations during the event will be appreciated. Receive a free water bottle if you bring a guest. Door prizes.

Skills camp

T-ball coach pitch preseason skills camp registration begins April 28 for ages 3 to 7. Preseason Skills Camp runs for 4 Saturdays starting on June 7. Cost per player is $25.

The T-Ball/Coach Pitch season run from July 12 to Aug. 23. Cost is $40 per child for members and $80 per child for non-members.

Healthy Kids Day

Healthy Kids Day is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26. This is a special day of fun activities meant to help build on the incredible potential inside each and every child. This event is free to Y members and the community.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week program for adult cancer survivors and is offered free at the Valparaiso Family YMCA. It is open to Y members and residents. Program focus includes improving cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, flexibility, balance, stress management and confidence. Summer camp

Summer Camp registration is now open. Camp is structured by a daily schedule which provides focused activities developed from weekly themes. Camp activities will be held outdoors on YMCA grounds in our pavilion. The YMCA facility includes a playground, youth wellness room, swimming pool, and gym. National Day of Prayer

National Day of prayer is May 1. Come to the lobby where there will be tables staffed with many local clergy and staff from community churches. All faiths are welcome.

Methodist Hospitals Seminars

Find information provided from Methodist Hospitals at the next free seminar, “Osteoporosis and Bone Health” on Wednesday at the Valparaiso Family YMCA.
