PORTER TOWNSHIP | Three people were arrested Friday and county authorities said they found nearly 12 pounds of marijuana after responding to a burglary call at 2 S. Frame St.
The anonymous burglary call proved to be false, but officers said they smelled raw marijuana from outside the home in question.
They arrested Margaret Jokerst, 20, of 5718 Vanessa in Portage, after discovering marijuana in the front pocket of her sweatshirt.
She faces a felony charge of possessing more than 30 grams of the drug and a misdemeanor count of visiting a common nuisance, investigators said.
Anthony Jaroszewski, 50, of 2 S. Frame St., was arrested on felony counts of dealing and possessing marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance, police said.
Also arrested was Elijah Swelfer, 27, of 629 W. County Road 50 South, on a misdemeanor count of visiting a common nuisance.
