VALPARAISO | Porter Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford announced  his intention Monday to seek re-election next year.

The Republican, who is the county's longest-seated judge, having served since 1981, is seeking a sixth term.

Bradford said in a prepared statement he has presided over thousands of cases, including death penalty murder cases and multimillion dollar civil cases.

The 68-year-old is a lifelong resident of Porter County.

Other judicial seats up during next year's election include Porter Circuit Court Judge Mary Harper, a Republican, and Democrat Porter Superior Court Judge David Chidester.
