Police: Centier Bank says Chesterton ATM vandalized
CHESTERTON | An employee of Centier Bank in Chesterton, 104 Grant, reported to police Monday morning that someone had vandalized the automatic teller machine at the bank.
The employee told police when she arrived at work, there was a note from a customer that the ATM had "eaten" her debit card. When she checked the ATM, she was the card reader had been pushed into the machine. The damage was estimated at $200.
Lawn mower stolen from yard sometime during the weekend
CHESTERTON | A resident of the 300 block of South Ninth Street reported to police on Monday that sometime over the weekend someone stole a push lawn mower from the rear of his residence. The mower was valued at $210.
Lawn equipment worth $450 taken from truck on Monday
CHESTERTON | A man reported to police Monday afternoon that someone stole a lawn edger valued at $450 from his truck.
The man said he and other workers were doing work in the Coffee Creek Watershed when he went to his truck parked on Village Point and saw that someone had lifted the truck bed's cover and removed the edger.
