PINE TOWNSHIP | Police believe child pornographers posing as young girls may have coaxed a 10-year-old Pine Township boy to post a nude video of himself online.
According to Porter County sheriff's police, officers were called to a rural Pine Township home around 7:30 p.m. Sunday after the boy's mother found a number of email messages requesting nude videos from her son.
The boy told police he logged onto his YouTube account Friday night and had messages from people he believed to be young girls around his age. The boy told police the supposed girls wanted him to post nude videos of himself and, in return, they'd send him nude videos of themselves.
The boy said he made a nude video of himself and posted it online. He told officers he then began getting requests for more nude videos of himself, many requesting he do sexually explicit things.
Police said in all, the boy received more than a dozen requests for more videos of himself. Some of the requests threatened to turn him in to the FBI if he didn't send them more videos. Others, police said, threatened to send the videos to his friends and classmates if he didn't comply with their requests for more videos.
The boy told police that he immediately deleted the original video after receiving the threats.
The boy's mother said she found out about the threats because every email message sent to her son also comes to her inbox.
The boy's parents told police his computer privileges have been taken away.
Police said the case remains under investigation.
