CENTER TOWNSHIP

FRIDAY

Fraud. Valparaiso-area resident Timothy Gorgei reported someone obtained his debit card account number and personal identification number and purchased beer in the Netherlands. The loss is $650.

 

CHESTERTON

THURSDAY

Theft. South 21st Street resident Kimberly Adams reported a $200 GPS unit stolen from her van.

FRIDAY

Fraud. Chesterton police are warning people that homes listed for rent on Craigslist may not be owned by the person claiming to be the landlord. Police said they received another report of fraud Friday. Police advise people to avoid giving personal information or sending money to someone who is not able to show a home in person.

 

MORGAN TOWNSHIP

FRIDAY

Theft. Malden Oasis, 394 S. Ind. 49, reported the theft of a $400 coil cooling draft box from the upstairs storage area.

 

PLEASANT TOWNSHIP

SATURDAY

Vandalism. Kouts resident Christopher Birkey reported his truck was spray painted while parked in the 600 block of south County Road 150 East. The damage is $100.

 

SOUTH HAVEN

SUNDAY

Theft. McCool Road resident John Click reported the theft from his shed of an $840 snow blower, a $300 mower and $305 worth of tools.

MONDAY

Burglary. Long Run Road resident Ronald Goldsmith told police someone burglarized his garage and took $800 worth of tools.

 

VALPARAISO

FRIDAY

Arrest. Zachary Oswald, 21, of Valparaiso, was arrested on a battery charge Friday evening after he was accused of yelling, "You guys look like Gothic retards" to two men who were walking on Emmetsburg Avenue on Friday night, then knocking down one of the men.

SATURDAY

Theft. Institute Street resident Angela Koziorowski reported $170 worth of compact discs stolen from her vehicle.

SUNDAY

Vandalism. Grove Avenue resident Olga Felton reported someone spray painted graffiti on her shed, causing $100 damage. Police said similar graffiti was discovered earlier three houses to the west.

Vandalism. The Valparaiso Parks Department reported $400 damage to the men's bathroom at Tower Park on Evans Avenue.

MONDAY

Vandalism. Forest Park Golf Course, 1155 W. Sheffield Drive, reported a vehicle entered the course and spun its tires, causing $1,000 damage to the 14th hole tee box and the 13th green.
