FISH FRIES | Portage

Dunes Masonic Lodge, 5925 Stone Ave., offers fish fries from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 26, March 5 and March 12. Donation is $9 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.

Assumption Parish, 3530 Illinois St., will hold its fish, shrimp and homemade pierogi dinners from 4 to 7 p.m.Feb. 26, March 12 and 26 in the parish hall. Cost is $8 for fish; shrimp, $9; combo, $9 and dozen pierogi, $7. Kids fish or shrimp is $4.

M&M Catering, aka "Michelle's Kitchen," now provides a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturday Afternoon Specials from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays, at Miller-Dunes American Legion Post 279, 6601 Old Hobart Road in Miller area. All proceeds provide funding for American Legion programs benefitting veterans, children and community. Phone orders accepted.

FRIDAY DINNERS | Merrillville

St. Elijah Serbian-American Hall hosts a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays at 8700 Taft St., Merrillville. Prices vary, with ocean perch, lake perch, fried or baked cod, deep-fried smelt and piroghi dinners available. All dinners include homemade bean soup, cole slaw, potato or rice. Carry-outs are available.

Knights of Columbus Marian Council 3840 host Lenten fish fries from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays through March 26 at the council hall, 13039 U.S. 41. Menu is your choice of all-you-can-eat pollock or smelt, fantail shrimp, chicken strips or grilled cheese, french fries or Irish potatoes. All dinners include cole slaw, applesauce, bread and butter, homemade dessert and choice of soft drink, milk, tea or coffee. Price is $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Three pieces of fantail shrimp can be added to any dinner for $2. Cash bar and carry-outs available. Proceeds benefit various local organizations.

Lenten fish fries will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays, March 5 and 19, at Ridge United Methodist Church, 8607 Columbia Ave. The menu includes perch, green beans, macaroni and cheese, baked potato, cole slaw, dessert and beverages. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children (children's meals available are hot dog or sandwich).

AWESOME FISH fries | Winfield

The JourneyMen of Church of the Four Seasons, United Methodist, announce the return of its Awesome Fish fries from 4 to 7 p.m. March 12 at the church, 9100 E. 109th Ave. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 12; younger children eat free. The menu includes fried Alaskan Pollack, tater tots, corn, cole slaw, applesauce, roll, cookie, coffee and lemonade. Hot dogs will be available for children.

St. Catherine of Siena, 165th Street and Kentucky Avenue, is hosting a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays, through March 26. Lake perch dinner is $10, ocean perch is $7.75, large shrimp is $10, small shrimp is $7.75. Fish sticks dinner is available for $7. All-you-can-eat salad bar is $6.50 and carry-outs are available. Dinners include fish, salad bar, fries, dessert, coffee or punch.

American Legion Post 330 continues its annual fish fry season from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays through April 2. Menu is cod, perch, shrimp or chicken tender dinner. Combo platters available. Meals include cole slaw, French fries, roll with butter, coffee and dessert.

Fish 'n More dinners will be held through Lent from 3 to 7 p.m. Fridays at Descent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, 545 E. 77th Ave. Pollock, shrimp, tilapia, catfish, ethnic plates (stuffed cabbage, pierogi, haluski) dinners include fries or haluski (cabbage and noodles), cole slaw, bread, dessert and coffee. Cost ranges from $6 to $9.50. Soda, bottled water, strudel and nut rolls are available for purchase.

Hammond Mohawks will host a Lenten fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday during Lent beginning today. All-you-can-eat pollock costs $9 and is $5 for children ages 11 and younger. Also available is a half-pound shrimp dinner for $9, a frog leg dinner for $9, a smelt dinner for $9 or a combo platter of fish, shrimp and frog legs for $11. All dinners include fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, bread, salad and dessert.

St. Patrick's Church, 3810 Grand Blvd., is hosting fish fry dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays from Feb. 26 through March 26. Menu items include perch, tilapia, catfish, shrimp, combo platter, salad bar, soda pop, water and dessert. French fries are included with all dinners. The children's menu includes chicken nuggets, pizza puffs, with or without salad bar. Adult dinner prices range from $8 to $10, salad bar is $7 and children's meals are $3 or $6.

The Holy Name Society of St. Thomas More Catholic Church is hosting a Lenten fish fry

and raffle from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 26 at the St. Thomas More Social Center, 8435 Calumet Ave. Dinner includes North Atlantic cod with shrimp, French fries, cole slaw, pickled beets, bread, butter, coffee, milk, soft drinks and beer and wine available. Dinner is $8 for adults and $4 for children age 13 and younger. Carryouts available, tickets sold at the door.

St. John VFW Post 717 and its Ladies and Men's Auxiliary will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 5 and the first Friday of every month at the post home, 10400 W. 93rd Ave. Entrees include perch, chicken strips, shrimp and crab cakes, served with choice of potato, cole slaw or cottage cheese, bread and butter, and coffee or tea. A fish fry will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. March 5 and the first Friday of every month through June at American Legion Post 238 on Ind. 10 between Interstate 65 and Ind. 55. A music jam will take place upstairs from 6 to 9 p.m.
