HEBRON | The 28th annual Voyageur Rendezvous will be held from from 10 a.m. to 4 p. m. Saturday and May 18 at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park, 21690 Range Line Road.  Admission is $3 with children 7 and younger admitted free. Peek into the lives of those who would have lived or traded along the Kankakee River more than 250 years ago when the Grand Kankakee Marsh was a source of valuable furs desired by merchant traders to take back to Europe. Meet Native Americans, French-Canadian canoe men called voyageurs, British and French militia, early settlers, and many re-enactors. Highlights include the arrival of Voyageurs by canoe, a trading session with the Native Americans, storytelling, interactive activities for children, a Tomahawk Throw, a fashion show, hot food, cold sarsaparilla and more.
