Summer classes for kids continue this month at the Chesterton Art Center with artist and educator Marsha Demkovich. Three sessions in July will be offered for children of all ages. The first July session is called "You've Got Mail" and every child will design and paint a real mailbox. Students will also create an acrylic painting. This class session runs July 12 through 15. Children ages 7 -10 will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and children ages 11-14 will meet from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The second July session is called "Imaginations in Control" and will explore watercolor Chinese brush painting using Sumie Techniques. Each student will also create a tie-dye T-shirt. They will also study drawing and watercolor painting techniques to create a painting. The dates for this session are July 19 to 22. Children ages 5 to 8 will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and children ages 9 to 14 will meet from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The last July session is called "Magical Mix and Advanced Tie-Dye" and students will learn about art through painting and drawing. This class will tie-dye a t-shirt as well. The dates for this session are Monday through Thursday, July 26-29. Children ages 5 -8 will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and children ages 9-14 will meet from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

All supplies are included in the class tuition of $65 for members of the Art Center and $70 for non-members.
