HEBRON | A Hebron man was arrested Tuesday after crashing his car and fleeing police.

Daniel P. Wilson, 44, of 202 W. Sigler St., was charged with operating while intoxicated and transported to Porter County Jail.

According to the police report, Hebron police responded to an unknown crash Tuesday at the intersection of Pratt Street and Tower Crossing.

Police found a white Dodge Nitro, hood down in a five-foot ditch. Passersby, who stopped to assist the driver, said Wilson fled on foot to the nearby woods.

Police tracked Wilson's footprints in the snow for about a half mile before he was found walking down Park Place. He allegedly admitted to driving the car.
