VALPARAISO — Construction should begin yet this fall on a 45,000-square-foot medical office building at 1425 Glendale Boulevard.

Todd Keilholz, who owns TRK Construction of Munster, said at Tuesday's site review committee meeting that the two-story medical office building will have three tenants, including Porter Regional Hospital facilities, a dialysis center and a doctor's office.

Depending on the weather, the foundation will go in soon and construction on the steel building will begin shortly afterward with the goal of having the first patient treated at the facility in September 2018, Keilholz said.

"It is right next to the Porter facility, and we thought that would be a nice fit. There is also a need for another dialysis center in the area," Keilholz said.

The vacant lot is zoned business park. The building will have a sprinkler system and elevators.
