OGDEN DUNES | The Independent Cat Society will hold an Open Your Heart event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ogden Dunes Fire Station, 111 Hillcrest Drive.

There will be cat toys and treats for cats and baked goods for people, available for purchase and a chance to meet a few of the Sweetheart contestants. Guests can vote for their favorite, with all proceeds helping the Independent Cat Society.

The Independent Cat Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1977. Cats and kittens from all walks of life (stray, homeless, abandoned) are given medical needs as well as shelter until they are adopted.
