PORTAGE | Portage High School Thespians are hosting a production of “Driving Miss Daisy” A MasMedia 7 Independent Production directed by Mark Spencer, an Indiana University Northwest alumnus and visiting professor.
The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Portage High West auditorium, 6450 U.S. 6. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for seniors and $2 for students and children.
Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize and the Outer Critics Circle Award for best of-Broadway play, "Driving Miss Daisy" by Alfred Uhry, is a warm-hearted, humorous and affecting study of the unlikely relationship between a cantankerous white Southern lady, and a proud, soft-spoken black man.
This production features Bill Bodnar (retired Portage High theatre teacher) in the role of Boolie, Miss Daisy’s son, with Darryl Crockett as Hoke the driver and Jennifer Mead as Miss Daisy. For more information, call (219) 764-6126.
