Child Care and Development Center (full time child care): We currently have openings for 2, 3 and 4 year olds in our State Licensed Child Care Center. Enroll you 2 year old in the center and for the first 3 weeks paid, receive the 4th week free. “The Child Care Center is not just a place where parents take their kids while they are at work. We provide a safe environment to nurture the potential of every child through creative learning and teaching techniques lead by caring nurturing teachers and support staff. COLLEGE SPECIAL-All full-time college students with schedule or current college ID will receive a single primary plus membership for $31 a month with NO JOINER FEE! Membership must be purchased by July 31, 2013.

SUMMER SPECIAL-The Y’s summer special will be available. Purchase 4 weeks - $40, 6 weeks - $60, 8 weeks - $80, 10 weeks - $100 or 12 weeks - $120 with NO JOINER FEE! All purchases must be made by July 31, 2013. All memberships must expire by August 31, 2013 so don’t miss out this summer.

OPEN PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION FOR THE COMMUNITY It’s not too early to register for 2013-14 school year preschool academy. Register early to receive a spot. Morning/afternoon 2, 3 and 4 day a week classes. Financial assistance scholarships are available to those who qualify. FAMILY BINGO-July 26 from 6-7:30 join us for Family Bingo. $5.00 per person-3 and under free, 50/50, raffles, concession stand, fun prizes-open to the public.

DINE TO DONATE-Pick up a flyer at the YMCA and bring it to Texas Roadhouse Family Night, July 29 and 10% of your proceeds will benefit the YMCA.

Gymnastics- Jump off the beam, flip over the bars, follow your dreams, and reach for the stars. As part of the Y’s focus on Youth Development the Y offers gymnastic for ages 2 through their spectacular “Sparklers” gymnastics team. Camp Three: Kindergarten Review Camp Aug 5th-9th

M - F 9:00-11:30am Open to children entering Kindergarten

Fee: $35 members $24.50 primary plus $70 others

A review of skills and academics needed when entering kindergarten.

FREE Fitness in the Park-The Y has partnered with the Portage Parks to offer FREE, fun fitness classes EVERY SATURDAY MORNING AT 10AM in July.

Boot Camp-July 20-Woodland Park

Yoga on the Beach-July 27-Lakefront Park

FREE Community Open Swim the 1st Friday of the month at the Portage High School West Pool July and August from 2:30-5:45pm Children must be accompanied by an adult 18 or over the entire time and must stay with child.

FREE Walk this Way- The YMCA in conjunction with the City of Portage is now offering a walking club. This club will walk every Tuesday. This community club does not require a membership to the YMCA. Interested walkers/runners can meet in the YMCA lobby at 9:45 am. The “Rails to Trails” will be utilized for this program. During inclement weather, the YMCA track will be used. Membership not needed.

FREE Running Club- Free Community Running Club is for amateur runners who will meet in the YMCA lobby every Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. Membership not needed. Dress for the weather. All 1 hour runs will be outside unless it is lightening or below 15 degrees. Participants will be running 3-5 miles with calisthenics and stretching. Must be 14 and up to participate. Fun Zone is only available to YMCA Members.

Volleyball- Thursday night volleyball free for Y-members 14 and older from 7-9 pm. Non-Members pay only $10. Advanced Court and recreational court available. Parent or guardian must sign in participant.

3 Day Diabetes Class

July 23, 24 and 25 from 6-8pm learn everything you need to know about diabetes at this free seminar open to the public. You must register by calling 219-947-6234

School Sports Physicals

July 25 Sports Physicals will be performed by St. Mary Medical Center at the YMCA from 5-8pm the cost is $20. Please register by calling 219-764-7217.

Healthy Eating Seminar

Come early to Music in the Park at Woodland Park on July 30 at 5:15pm in front of the community garden to hear the myths and facts about healthy eating. A registered dietician will address nutrition issues and answer questions.
