PORTAGE | Friends of Portage Township Foundation, Inc. is hosting “Trek the Township”, a 20-mile non-competitive, family-fun bicycle event on May 18 at Haven Hollow Park, 330 W. County Road 700 North.
Friends of Portage Township Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization created in June 2011 to support the growth and development of Portage Township Department of Parks and Recreation.
Participants will set out at 8 a.m. on a 20+ mile route leading cyclists from Haven Hollow Park, through country and city roads, along the Prairie Duneland Trail and returning back to Haven Hollow Park. Vendor booths, snacks and a closing celebration are all part of the fun.
Participants can register on-line at www.townshipfriends.org or stop by the Portage Township Trustee’s Office at 3484 Airport Road, Portage. The cost of the ride is $45/adults and $35 for youth 12-17yrs. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by May 1.
