PORTAGE | Portage Community Historical Society will hold its 25 year anniversary festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 5250 U.S. 6.
Activities are planned throughout the day. They include opening ceremonies, antique car show, silent auction, loom weaving in the museum, Save the Tunes music, Trilly Cole on banjo and stories, Good Time Cloggers, Abraham Lincoln impersonator and closing ceremonies.
Chidlren's activities include carnival games, fishing derby, group games and a watermelon eating contest. There will be hayrides during the festival and a vintage 1929 fire truck will be on display.
The museum, barn and farmhouse are open for tours. There will also be brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, root beer floats, ice cream, pie and pop for sale, for cash only. Call (219) 762-8349 or (219) 762-1675.
