PORTAGE | Island 49 will be the featured entertainment at the July 16 Summer Music in the Park show from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Portage Woodland Park Sycamore Hall. The show is free to the public and seating is provided.
The 2013 Portage Summer Music in the park is a collaboration of Portage Chamber of Commerce, Portage Department of Parks and Recreation and Portage Township Live Entertainment Association.
The Island 49 show will showcase a musical variety, in the style of Jimmy Buffett.
A full bar will be available, featuring margarita cocktails, wine, beer, soft drinks and a variety of mixed libations, for a fee.
The summer music committee includes Terry and Linda Hardin, Terry Hufford and Jenny Orsburn. Free music in the park will be presented every Tuesday through August. Upcoming shows include Monterrey, Relics, AcoustiCats, Summer Symphony, New Element and the Larry Spurlock Little Big Band.
