PORTAGE | A 47-year-old man crossing Central Avenue on Tuesday died after being struck by two vehicles.

Mark Clapp, of the 5800 block of Central Avenue, died at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Clapp was reportedly crossing the street to retrieve his dog from a neighbor’s residence when he was struck by a car, according to Portage police.
