PORTAGE | Miller’s Senior Living Community, 5911 Lute Road, is hosting various events in May.
A Lunch Bunch fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Friday in May. Participants can choose a freshly grilled sandwich, bag of chips, cookie and soft drink for $5.
The Caregiver Support Group is at 10 a.m. Saturday May 11 at Miller’s.
The Caregiver Support Group provides information in a supportive environment where caregivers can share problems, ideas and successful solutions. The public is invited to this free meeting and refreshments will be served. This ongoing Caregiver Support Group meets on the second Saturday of each month.
A Mother's Day Tea will be at 2 p.m. Saturday May 11. There will be tea and treats as well as entertainment by Wolfgang of Hobart. The admission is free but participants need to register no later than May 6 by calling Gwen Kiser at (219) 764-0628.
Miller’s Sunday Buffet will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 12 and 26. It is $12 per person and open to the public.
A Pinochle Marathon is from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday May 30. Prizes will be awarded to the top scorer. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Miller's will also be participating in the Portage Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday May 2 at Woodland Park, Oakwood Hall, 2100 Willowcreek Road.
The fair will have many vendors that provide services for seniors as well as health screenings, demonstrations and door prizes. 1st Source Bank will be on site with a paper shredder to help eliminate unwanted paper in a secure manner. A light luncheon for seniors will be served at noon.
