PORTAGE | Gabriel’s Horn and Outback Trail presents The Trail Run Xtreem 12K Trail Run & One Mile Xtra Kid’s Run on May 26 at Imagination Glen Park, 2275 McCood Road. The kid's mile start begins at 8:15 a.m. and the 12K run start begins at 9.

This is 2014 XYZ Trail Series Event  and advanced packet pickup will be available  from noon to 5 p.m. May 25 at the Extra Mile Fitness Co. Race day packet pickup begins at 7.

Awards for the I2K Run will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, top male and female masters, and top three finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39,  40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-75, 75-79 and 80-plus. Awards also will be presented to the first male and female finisher representing each branch of the military. Participants are only eligible to win one award. Awards for the Kids Mile will be presented to the overall boy and girl winner along with the top three in each age group: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.

Race T-shirts guaranteed for participants registered prior to May 15. After May 15 shirts will be based on availability.

A post-race Memorial Day cookout will follow the race. All proceeds benefit Gabriel's Horn Homeless Shelter and Outback Trail. There is a $20 online entry fee for the 12KRun. The mail-in is $25. There is a $15 online fee for the 1 Mile Kids Run. The mail in is $20. All mail-in registrations must be post marked before May 21. For more information email: mignon.kennedy@gabriels-horn.org

Gabriel’s Horn is a shelter that provides a protected refuge for homeless women and children of Porter County by establishing and maintaining a facility which will provide them with a safe and temporary shelter, including outreach services.
