PORTAGE | Three men were taken to Porter County hospitals after two semis crashed about 10 a.m. on Interstate 94.
Indiana State Police said Christopher Nagy, 44, of Battle Creek, Mich., was eastbound in a 2011 Freightliner pulling a rail container when he moved from the middle lane to the right lane and rear-ended a 1996 Volvo semi.
The Volvo semi had just entered the interstate from Ind. 249 and was pulling a flatbed trailer carrying two steel coils.
The Volvo semi, owned by Creekwood Carriers LLC of Hobart, was driven by Eduardo Ramirez Sr., 54, of Sauk Village.
Ramirez and his co-driver, Eduardo Ramirez Jr., 29, were taken to Porter hospital in Portage with non-life threatening injuries. Nagy was taken to Porter hospital in Valparaiso with trauma to his legs, according to police.
Nagy was cited for speed too fast to avoid a collision.
