PORTAGE | Myers Elementary School children and staff invited the Portage Fire and Police Departments over for a Sept. 11 Pinwheel for Peace Ceremony.

Principal Jeff King led the children and adults in the Pledge of Allegiance, then explained what occurred on Sept. 11 in simple terms.

The principal made sure each child had a pinwheel and one by one with help of the Portage firefighters placed them in the ground to hope for future peace in our world and hope that what occurred that day never happens again.
