PORTAGE | Portage elementary art students were honored at the 4th Annual Opening Reception of the Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Portage public Library Monday, March 3, 2014. Art teachers, Jennifer Johnson, Gretchen Scott, Amanda Sheffer, Sarah Yang, Sarah Chapela, and Bridget Nadolski served cookies and punch to the young artists and their family members who came to see the art work on display. The Portage Tri Kappa, Town & Country Market, Portage Public Library staff, and Potage Township School elementary teachers provided the punch and cookies to over 400 students and family members.

This year mustaches “to look like an artist” were sold for donations to the elementary art fund to buy technology supplies for the iPads used in the art curriculum.

Visitors can view over 250 pieces of art work from 8 elementary schools that will be on display until the end of the month.
