PORTAGE | Residents in the 2700 block of Walnut Street reported to police Wednesday evening that someone had broken into their home and stolen numerous items.
Residents told police they left the home locked at 6 p.m. and returned at 6:50 to find an entertainment center knocked over and the back door broken.
Items missing included five wrist watches, two televisions and a Wii video game system. The items were valued at more than $2,800.
Entry into the home apparently was gained by someone kicking in the back door.
