HAMMOND | Dairy Dip in Portage has been dismissed from a federal racial discrimination lawsuit filed by three customers who claim to have been detained by police while at the business on Sept. 19, 2009.

In the suit, which also targets the Portage Police Department, Carolyn Carter and Patricia Clarke claim they were illegally detained by police and illegally issued warnings after addressing a concern with the business.

The pair, along with Madronica Clarke, claim the manager called police for no reason and that police discriminated against them.
