PORTAGE | The Portage Park Board this week approved hiring a company to design a new website.
The board approved paying Websites2Print $12,500 for the new site, which should be ready in about three months.
Parks Superintendent Jenny Orsburn said the department needed a more interactive website to serve customers.
"When we started working with the online registration, we found the need for a better website to compliment it," she said.
Presently the department has pages on the city's website, but, said Orsburn, that site is difficult for park staff to manage and update. The department needs a site it can better utilize.
She said people call the department frequently asking questions. The new website will have additional information to answer questions and provide information, freeing up staff to take on other tasks. Orsburn said not only will the new site be beneficial to park customers, but it will help the department operate more efficiently.
