PORTAGE | The Portage Police Department conducted a warrant sweep throughout the city Wednesday netting in 14 people being arrested.
According to a press release issued by the department, police had wanted to serve about 120 felony, misdemeanor and civil warrants, with a goal of arresting 30 people. The department, with assistance from the reserve unit, made the sweeps from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In addition to the 12 warrant arrests made, an additional two people were arrested on other charges.
