PORTAGE | The Portage Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing Beretta autoloader shotgun model 390ST and also issuing a warning to anyone who may have found the gun and not turned it in.

The shotgun was lost June 16 in the area between Savannah Heights and Nativity Church on Willowcreek Road.

The gun was left on the owner's truck bed in a green zippered padded case and he drove off before realizing the gun was left on his truck. The owner retraced his path 15 minutes later and was unable to find the gun.

The shotgun has a reverse trigger. This trigger fires the shotgun only after the trigger is pulled and then released.

Anyone who has the gun or has information on the gun is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Nick Grynovich at (219) 762-3122.
