CROWN POINT | A Portage woman was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison after being convicted of attempted robbery, officials said.
Jami C. Sipich, 33, pleaded guilty to Class A felony attempted robbery and was sentenced to 37 years in prison, according to a news release from the Lake County prosecutor's office.
Sipich admitted she walked into a Lake Station restaurant March 4, grabbed a worker from behind and held a knife to the person's neck, the release states.
She then demanded money from the other workers and ran away when she realized the person she was holding was bleeding, the release states.
