PORTAGE | A Portage woman was arrested Thursday evening after threatening a man with a knife after he allegedly waved at another woman.
Demetria L. McCline, 32, of 3070 Futura Drive, Apt. A, was charged with felony intimidation. Police said she threatened the man with a 12-inch knife and stabbed at a bedroom door after the man locked himself in the room to get away from her.
The man told police he and McCline got into an argument when she grabbed the knife and started toward him. He ran into a nearby bedroom and locked the door. She allegedly stabbed the door several times.
When she stopped, he opened the door and McCline was standing outside the door with knife in hand. He closed her arm inside the door, took the knife away from her, thew it under the bed and fled outside to call police.
McCline told police she got angry after the man waved to another woman outside the home and was mad because he would not talk to her about the incident.
She told police she did not intend to harm the man.
