Prescription drugs, Ipod, ring stolen from home in Portage
PORTAGE | A resident of the 1400 block of Camelot Manor reported to police Sunday afternoon that someone broke into his home and stole several items.
When police arrived shortly after 2 p.m., they found entry had been gained by forcing open a door.
Missing from the home was a 1991 Hobart High School class ring, an iPod and a safe which contained several vials of prescription medication.
Jewelry, six Jackson DVDs are stolen from apartment
PORTAGE | A resident of the 3400 block of Sunnyside in Lake Pointe Apartments reported to police Saturday afternoon that someone had entered her apartment and stole several items.
There appeared to be no forced entry into the apartment. The resident said she last saw the items on Jan. 28.
Missing were two gold Cartouche pendants valued at $1,500, four Invicta brand watches valued at $800, six Michael Jackson DVDs valued at $500, a gold tennis necklace valued at $1,800, a gold clown pendant valued at $300 and a gold heart pendant with a ruby stone valued at $900.
Thieves take items valued at $12K from Shorewood home
UNION TOWNSHIP | Porter County police are investigating the theft of a furnace, stove and copper pipe from a Shorewood Forrest home.
Police were called to the home in the 400 block of Pickford Place on Friday where the owner's son said the home had been damaged by fire and contractors had been working to repair the damage.
Police reported drywall in several rooms was pulled from the walls to gain access to the copper pipe.
Damage and loss is estimated at more than $12,000, according to police.
