Items taken from vehicle in Portage driveway Saturday
PORTAGE | A resident of the 5700 block of Vanessa reported to police Saturday afternoon that several items had been taken from her car while it was parked in her driveway.
The resident said she had locked her car when she came home Friday night. When she went out Saturday morning she saw her purse, her daughter's sports bag and her backpack were missing. In addition, items taken included clothing, a wallet, various permits, licenses and gift cards, headphones, baseball bats, clothing, makeup, baseball gloves, baseball helmet, baseball cleats and other items with a value of $1,824.
Jackson Street residents of Portage reporting thefts
PORTAGE | Three residents of the 1900 block of Jackson Street reported to police Saturday morning that items were missing from their sheds and vehicle.
Two of the residents said their dogs had started barking about 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
Missing from one shed, in which the doors had been removed, was a generator, two gas weed eaters and a trimmer, all valued at $950. Missing from a second unlocked shed was a lawn mower valued at $300.
Missing from an unlocked vehicle were a backpack, car stereo, floor jack, iPod and wallet containing several identification cards, all valued at about $560.
About $1,200 in tools taken from Morgan Twp. garage
MORGAN TOWNSHIP | More than $1,200 worth of tools were reported stolen Saturday from a garage in the 100 South block of County Road 150 East. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
Kitchen, bathroom light fixtures reportedly stolen near Portage
PORTAGE TOWNSHIP | A kitchen and a bathroom light fixture were reported stolen from a home in the 300 block of Sycamore Drive. Police said someone apparently entered the home by forcing open a bedroom window.
