Restaurant window shot while diners ate, Portage police say
PORTAGE | Police are investigating who may have shot at a restaurant while diners ate Sunday night — from the inside of the restaurant.
Police were called to El Pueblo restaurant, 5350 U.S. 6 Sunday night. The manager told police that at about 5:30 p.m. someone shot a window in the front of the restaurant.
The manager said guests said they heard a popping sound coming from the window by their table and then a few small shards of glass fell from behind the curtains and landed on the window sill next to the table.
According to the report, police found one hole near the top of the window, but the window did not shatter. It appeared, according to police, that the window was shot at from the inside of the restaurant.
The manager disagreed, believing the window was shot from the outside as the curtains on the inside showed no damage.
