Man faces disorderly conduct charge after stop in Portage

PORTAGE | A Gary man was arrested for disorderly conduct Tuesday night after he argued with police.

Kendall L. Clayvon, 22, was stopped by police on Brown Street north of Mulberry Avenue just before 10 p.m. after police said he was driving erratically.

Clayvon told the officer he had been texting on his cellphone and knew his license plate was expired.

According to the report, Clayvon began yelling at police and throwing up his hands. He continued to yell at officers, jumping out of his vehicle and then "dove back" in when he was told his SUV would be impounded. He was ordered back out of the vehicle at gunpoint and ordered onto the ground until he could be taken into custody.
