Semis broken into in parking lot

PORTAGE | Police received a report Thursday morning of the cab of a semi-trailer truck being broken into overnight while parked at the Super 8 Motel, 6118 U.S. 20.

While police investigated, they found two other semis which had broken windows.

One victim told police someone stole his CB radio from the truck. The radio was valued at $400.


Boone Grove student faces indecency charge

PORTER TOWNSHIP | A 19-year-old Boone Grove High School student is accused of exposing himself on the school bus.

According to police, school officials learned from a student's mother that a male student exposed himself to two other girls on the bus on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the boy admitted his involvement, saying he was "stupid" for doing it.

Police are seeking charges of indecent exposure be filed against him.
