Items reported stolen from car parked at Portage home

PORTAGE | A resident in the 2600 block of Eleanor reported to police Thursday morning that someone entered her car parked in her driveway overnight, taking several items.

Missing was an iPad, cellphone, cash, medication and paperwork from the glove box. The items were valued at $350.

 

Attempted overnight burglary from Portage shed reported

PORTAGE | A resident of the 6900 block of Superior reported to police that someone attempted to break into his shed overnight. The padlock was damaged, but nothing was missing.

This was the second report in two days of either a burglary or attempted burglary to sheds in the same neighborhood. Both homes back up to the Jones Elementary School playground.

 

Vandals ruin air conditioner; poking hole in coil costs $500

PORTAGE | A woman reported to police Thursday afternoon that an air conditioning unit had been vandalized at a home in the 5800 block of Creekview. The home is owned by Housing Opportunities.

Someone had apparently poked a hole in the coil, causing the refrigerant to escape. The damage was estimated at $500.
