Fishing equipment reported taken from Portage residence

PORTAGE | A resident of the 100 block of Camelot Estates reported to police Wednesday morning that someone had entered his home while he was away and stole several items.

The man told police the burglary occurred sometime between Monday and Wednesday mornings. He told police his doors were locked, but his windows were unlocked. There appeared to be no forced entry into the home.

Missing was a television, DVD player, four fishing rods, laptop computer, prescription glasses and cash, totaling about $1,500 in value.

About $5,000 in jewelry is stolen from Portage house

PORTAGE | A resident of the 2800 block of Richard Street reported to police Wednesday afternoon that several items of jewelry were missing from her home.

The resident said she believed the theft occurred sometime between the evening of April 21 and Wednesday afternoon. There were no signs of forced entry to the home.

Items missing included two diamond bracelets, two diamond rings, seven other rings, a diamond necklace, gold earrings and a watch. The items were valued at about $5,000.

Purse stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in Portage

PORTAGE | A resident of the 6500 block of O'Hare reported to police Wednesday morning that someone entered her unlocked car overnight and stole her purse. The purse, valued at $100, also contained bank and identification cards.
