Alleged burglar takes gun, games
PORTAGE | A resident of the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Street reported to police Wednesday afternoon that someone broke into his home for the second time in the month.
The man told police that his home was broken into on Jan. 18 and his iPod Nano as well as $40 in cash was taken. He did not report that burglary to police.
On Wednesday he told police that someone again broke into the home, apparently by kicking in the back door.
Missing from the home was a pistol, a PlayStation 3 console and controller and an Xbox 360 console and controller.
Dolls, shotgun taken in burglary
PORTAGE | A woman reported to police Wednesday afternoon that someone broke into her mother's home in the 5500 block of Lark Avenue while her mother was in the hospital.
The woman told police that when she came to the home Wednesday, the door was unlocked and the home appeared to have been ransacked. Missing from the home was an unknown model shotgun, a safe that contained coin collections and two collectible dolls.
Vehicle broken into, items taken
PORTAGE | A woman reported to police Wednesday evening that someone shattered a window in her vehicle while she was at the gym and stole her purse.
Police responded to 6020 Central Ave., just after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The rear passenger window of the vehicle had been shattered and the woman's Coach purse and Coach wallet, along with cash, several credit, debit and personal identification cards and iPhone were taken.
Missing items were valued at $900 and about $100 in damage was done to the vehicle.
