Polish Heritage Festival

MICHIGAN CITY | Polish Heritage Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at International Friendship Gardens, 2055 E. U.S. 12. There will be Polish food, exhibits, children's activities and a beer garden. A Polish/English Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. featuring the Wesoly Lud Polish folk dance troupe. The EZ Tones polka band will perform from 1 to 4 p.m., and accordionist Steve Kowalczyk will entertain during the event. Call (219) 879-9453.


Community bingo

Valpo Woman's Club meets

VALPARAISO | Valparaiso Woman's Club will host a noon luncheon meeting at its clubhouse, 102 Washington St. Lunch reservations are $7. The club, organized in 1895, is seeking new members. Valpo church Awana event

Valparaiso Baptist Church Awana meets from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. every Wednesday at 612 Emmetsburg Road. Each Awana night includes Levels of Learning that give the children an opportunity to achieve, earn rewards and learn God’s Word through various projects and Scripture memory goals.


Fall rummage, bake sale

PORTAGE | Portage United Methodist Church will hold its annual fall rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at 2637 McCool Road. 15th annual Sunflower Fair

LAPORTE | The 15th annual Sunflower Fair is planned in downtown LaPorte from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event features family fun, a rib cook-off and sunflower contest. The fair also features live entertainment, food, kiddie rides, a rock-climbing wall and more than 100 craft vendors. This fair also has a classic car show and activities throughout the day.
