PORTAGE | The public is invited to give input and ideas for the development of the U.S. 20 corridor during a public workshop.
The vision workshop will take place at 7 p.m. April 8 in the Sycamore Room at Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road.
The city initiated the development of a Highway 20 Corridor Plan last year, hiring consultants and holding initial meetings last fall.
The plan will focus on U.S. 20 development between Interstate 94 and Salt Creek. The plan will focus on land use, development, corridor character, streetscape elements, infrastructure, access, mobility, signage, economic strategies and other issues and opportunities facing the corridor. The intent of the plan is to produce responsive, creative and effective recommendations and actions designed to improve the corridor.
Development of the plan includes the participation of elected and appointed officials, residents, business owners and managers, property owners and other stakeholders from the city.
The April 8 workshop will provide community members an opportunity to work together for the future of U.S. 20. Participants in the interactive workshop will be able to express their concerns, the things they like best about the corridor and the changes they would like to see.
After this meeting, the consulting team will use the input to craft an overall framework plan for the corridor to serve as the foundation of its development.
