PORTAGE | The Portage Chamber’s Ambassador/Membership committee is planning a series of monthly presentations by Portage Chamber members on topics of interest to the public and/or to our member businesses. Presentations will be hosted by Portage Chamber members covering subjects of general interest to the public and business topics as well. The series is known as Rise & Shine Portage and will be held each first Wednesday of the month at 9 am at meeting rooms made available by Portage Chamber members.
Topics of general interest to the public being planned include fraud, identity theft, consumer protection; health subjects; Medicare Parts A, B, D and Long term care; Real Estate topics; saving for retirement and college savings plans; banking and financial concerns for estate administration and planning; and developing an estate plan.
Business topics being planned include business succession planning, prevention of theft and shoplifting, retirement planning, tax planning, protecting your business against legal liability, business health issues such as Obamacare, taxation updates, financial planning, store or home security, advertising, and marketing.
Sessions will be free and open to the public.
The first Rise & Shine Portage session will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Rittenhouse Senior Living Community, 6235 Sterling Creek Road. Poe & Associates will present Dan Fagen, who will discuss the mysteries of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) applicable to small businesses. Complimentary coffee, water, fruit and pastries will be offered.
