Stuff the Bus school supplies needed

PORTER COUNTY | Beginning Monday, The Salvation Army will place volunteers at three locations to collect school supplies for children for the Stuff the Bus program.

The three locations are Staples in Valparaiso, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; Kmart in Chesterton, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Walmart in Portage, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. The supplies may also be dropped off at 799 Capitol Road in South Haven.

People can also donate money to purchase school supplies for students in need. The goal is to send children in need back to school with the supplies they need: pens, pencils, a ruler, paper, book bag or backpack, a notebook, folders, crayons, markers, colored pencils, a protractor and a calculator. They also want to include Kleenex, a new toothbrush and toothpaste and hand sanitizer. For more information, call (219) 762-9191.
