Tournament bridge players don't take a holiday, no matter what the weather brings. In Highland and Calumet Township, they play weekly games on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturday, always with the goal of earning master points.

In a recent bridge sectional tournament held in Merrillville, the top seven scorers for the three-day event were Dave Bigler, co-chairman of the event, of Hobart; John Chmielowiec, of Michigan City; Carol Osgerby, of Dyer; Lou Nimnicht, of Crown Point; Lynne Kostopoulos, of Lansing, Ill.; Joe Chin, of Highland; and Chuck Briggs, chairman of the event, of Hobart.

Top duplicate bridge scorers for the month of November, who play in the Highland and Calumet Township games, are listed below.  The top nine players named all scored master points in double digits — an excellent four-week achievement.
